The Seattle Seahawks offense could look drastically different by the time Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season rolls around. Not only did the team release wide receiver Tyler Lockett and offensive lineman George Fant, but Seattle is expected to trade wide receiver DK Metcalf during the offseason.

Metcalf's trade request was reported just hours after the team released Lockett. The Seahawks are complying with his request and general manager John Schneider has already received plenty of interest in the big-play wideout's services.

However, any trade will likely require a contract extension since Metcalf is in the final year of his deal. So how much would a team have to give up in a trade and how much money does Metcalf expect to receive on his new contract?

According to NFL insider Dianna Russini, the Seahawks are seeking multiple draft picks in return for Metcalf, who is seeking a monster contract extension from his new team.

"The Seahawks are seeking a first- and third-round pick in exchange for the star receiver, league sources said Thursday," wrote Russini. "Those sources also said Metcalf is eyeing a new contract worth around $30 million per year."

Currently, there are six wide receivers making at least $30 million per season (Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb, A.J. Brown, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Tyreek Hill and Brandon Aiyuk). While most of the players on this list would be ranked ahead of Metcalf based on their 2024 production, the Seahawks wideout has an impressive body of work.

Over his first six NFL seasons, Metcalf has never finished with less than 900 receiving yards. His best year came in 2020 when he recorded over 1,300 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. The 27-year-old is still in his prime and should be a top-10 caliber wideout for the next five seasons.

Regardless of where Metcalf ends up, the Seahawks' offseason just got a lot more interesting.
