PITTSBURGH -- Maybe Patrick Queen is expecting to leave the Pittsburgh Steelers. With trade rumors circulating through the NFL about the Steelers potentially trading their star inside linebacker, and Queen being on a contract year, the 26-year-old has made a change that could indicate his expectations of leaving Pittsburgh.

According to the agency IFA, Queen has become a client. They posted the news on Instagram, welcoming the Steelers inside linebacker to their network. Queen was formerly with the Bellengee Group, who helped him sign a three-year, $41 million deal with the Steelers in 2024.

IFA represents other former Steelers players like Daniel Ekuale, Adam Thielen and JC Hassenauer.

Queen Leaving Steelers?

The news could signal a few things. For starters, Queen could be readying himself to go into free agency next offseason and sign a deal at just 27. With the inside linebacker market shrinking since he signed his deal, he may be looking to get the best value for himself as he signs his third NFL contract.

It could also indicate that he's ready to negotiate with the Steelers. Maybe the team has approached him about a contract extension, and he's signing a new agent to get a deal done. While Pittsburgh has shown a lot of interest in the inside linebacker group in the 2026 NFL Draft, meeting with names like Jacob Rodriquez and Harold Perkins Jr., they have also spoken highly of Queen on multiple occasions.

"Yeah, PQ has been good for us. You know, I think he likes being here. We like having him be a part of the team. And you know, part of the process is going to be for him to get to know us,us to get to know him, but I'm excited about having him around," general manager Omar Khan said at the NFL Combine about extending Queen.

It could also mean a trade is on the horizon. Queen has been the center of plenty of speculation during free agency and if he were to be moved, would likely sign a new deal with the team he's traded to.

Hiring a new agent could mean he's preparing to sign an extension this offseason, but maybe not one with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Whatever is going to happen, it seems Queen is ready for it, and hinting that something could be coming for the inside linebacker. It's now just a matter of time before we all find out what.
