Per Schmelzinger's reporting, Martin's base salary will be $850,000. He'll receive a retention bonus each year.

In ten seasons as the head coach of the Redhawks, Martin has won two MAC championships (2019, 2023) and amassed a record of 56-62. The 2023 RedHawks finished with an 11-3 record, losing to Appalachian State in the Cure Bowl. Martin is 1-4 in bowl games all-time. His lone bowl victory was in the Frisco Football Classic following the 2021 season.

Miami's 2024 season begins on August 31 when the RedHawks travel to Evanston, Illinois to face Big Ten foe Northwestern.
