Meanwhile in Reno, new Nevada head coach Jeff Choate has his offensive coordinator.

The Wolfpack officially announced the hire of Kansas senior analyst Matt Lubick on Monday via X. Lubick spent the last two seasons in the aforementioned role with Lance Leipold's Jayhawk staff. Prior to Kansas, Lubick's three-decade coaching career has included three previous stops as an offensive coordinator at Nebraska (2020-2021), Washington (Co-OC, 2017-2018), and Oregon (2016).

At Oregon, Lubick was also the passing game coordinator from 2013 through 2015. Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota won the Heisman trophy in 2014 and led the Ducks to a 13-2 record, throwing for over 4,400 yards.

The Montana native also had a successful run as the wide receivers coach at Duke 2010-2012. He was named the wide receivers coach of the year in 2012 by footballscoop.com.

Lubick was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2023 and has since been undergoing treatment in Colorado.

Nevada's 2024 spring game is set for April 16. The Wolfpack have gone 2-10 in each of the last two seasons.
