First, we saw the Miami Vice jerseys that took over the sports world, but ever since those were released, FIU Athletic Director Scott Carr had mentioned about them being able to purchase another set of jerseys and on Saturday after the Panthers defeated the Maine Black Bears, FIU head coach Mike MacIntyre mentioned that they are going to be releasing the Biscayne Blue jerseys.

"One thing I wanted to do when I came here is I wanted to get as many different uniforms and many different helmets different things we could do because the kids love it so much," said MacIntyre. "Also, the media part of it is big for us. Any way we can get our name out there and as we continue to improve our program, they all go hand in hand and I'm excited about the new uniforms and so the kids are."

As mentioned in the FIU press release, the jerseys are a tribute to the city of Key Biscayne. Another new addition to the jersey is the Biscayne Blue Panther logo that is on the side of the pants along with a couple different shades of blue on the jersey itself.

"Great color coordination," said senior linebacker Alex Nobles. "That's one of my favorite colors. So when we dropped the Key Biscayne Blue, it was just like, man, this is lovely, especially the color coordination we got going too."

A good comparison to these jerseys are the FIU Baseball team's baby blue jerseys that they have been wearing for a couple of years now. Although the color scheme is a bit different, that main baby blue color is there.

To promote the new jerseys, the athletics department is selling Biscayne Blue shirts with the 305 Panthers logo for $10. On Saturday, the first 1,000 students will receive a free shirt.

The Panthers will be wearing these jerseys against the University of North Texas this upcoming Saturday, September 9.
