Only a few months into his tenure as the head coach of the Boise State football program, Spencer Danielson has a major task in front of him: replacing now-former offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan. Hamdan was announced as the new offensive coordinator on Wednesday.

A major win for Boise State this cycle was retaining star running back Ashton Jeanty. Danielson's staff also secured the highest-rated recruiting class in the program's history. If the Broncos get this hire wrong, wins like that are in jeopardy of leaving before their full potential is realized.

With that in mind, keep an eye on these potential targets for the open OC job as Bronco football moves forward.

Eric Kiesau

Current Florida Gators offensive analyst Eric Kiesau spent four seasons at Boise State (2017-2020) in a variety of roles, ending his stint as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, where he served on the same staff as Spencer Danielson. Kiesau has strong ties to the region, having served as OC at Colorado, Washington, Kansas and Fresno State during his 25-year coaching career.

Lee Marks

Former Boise State running back Lee Marks spent several seasons on the Broncos staff as running backs and special teams coach from 2014-2018, before serving as assistant head coach at Fresno State and held the same role at Washington over the last two seasons. Marks has never been an OC, but the allure coming back to his alma mater in the role could be one to keep an eye on.

Rudy Carlton

Arguably the most "dark horse" candidate on the list is currently coaching in the high school ranks. JSerra Catholic High School offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Rudy Carlton coached with Danielson at Azusa Pacific when Carlton severed as the team’s offensive coordinator for 10 seasons 2010-2019. After the program was shut down, Carlton went to West Florida, where he helped shaped Austin Reed into one of the top quarterbacks at the Division II ranks.
