Chicago Cubs Make Blockbuster Trade For All-Star Ahead of Series With Cincinnati Reds

CINCINNATI — The Cubs have won the Isaac Paredes sweepstakes.

Chicago is landing the All-Star infielder in a deal with Tampa Bay according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Paredes joins the Cubs ahead of a series against the Cincinnati Reds. He's posted a .247/.355/.438 slash line with 16 homers and 55 RBI this season.

He's under team control through the 2027 season and could be a building block for the Cubs moving forward.
