Browns QB Deshaun Watson’s MVP Odds for 2023 Season

Deshaun Watson is a wildcard to watch in the MVP race this coming season.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson needs to return to his pre-2020 self on the field to be in the mix for MVP this coming season. As it stands, Watson’s best odds to win the most valuable player award are +4000 on Caesers Sportsbook.

Those odds are the 12th best, according to Oddstrader. Watson will certainly need to prove that last year was just rust that led to his 79.1 rating and 7 passing touchdowns to five interceptions in six games.

In 2020, Watson threw 33 touchdowns with the Houston Texans with just seven interceptions. Those are MVP-like numbers and he would need a season like that to be in the thought. He’s capable and the Browns have added more talent around him such as wideouts Elijah Moore and Cedric Tillman, plus his defense is better and should give him more opportunities.

As expected, Patrick Mahomes has the best odds at +700 on FanDuel, followed by Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Jalen Hurts. Hurts. Mahomes won his second MVP last season with the Kansas City Chiefs.

While it may not be realistic for Watson to win the MVP this soon, when you factor in the off-the-field stuff, he still sits at an interesting spot heading into the season. A few good early weeks and he will shoot into the top 10. But the point still stands that he will have to prove it after a rocky six-game stint in 2022.
