Jerry Jones takes unprovoked shot at Micah Parsons while trying to hype defense

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones can't stop taking shots at former star pass rusher Micah Parsons, this time doing so while hyping the team's dreadful defense.

The Dallas Cowboys' defense has been a mess throughout the first six weeks of the NFL season, but don't expect owner and general manager Jerry Jones to admit any wrongdoing.

Jones facilitated a trade with the Green Bay Packers to ship superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons to the NFC North in exchange for two first-round picks and Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

Parsons has been a great asset for Green Bay, which has a top five defense in the league. The Cowboys, meanwhile, rank dead last.

While the Cowboys have not found a steady pass rush and have been dreadful in all aspects of the game, Jones still presents an optimistic facade when speaking to the media. Most recently, he made his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan.

Despite the team's historically bad defensive play, Jones attempted to hype up the unit and took an unprompted shot at Parsons while sharing his thoughts.

Jones directly addressed the team's pass rushers, falsely claiming that the current group is the best the Cowboys have ever had.

"Where we are strongest is our pass rushers," Jones said, according to Clarence HIll of DLLS Sports. "We have most pass rushers as we’ve ever had."

Now, Jerry knows that is not true, but it's his job to play the hype man role. And as previously said, he's never going to admit any missteps.

In fact, while Jones has been using the narrative that the Cowboys traded away Parsons to get better against the run, the Packers have the NFL's best run defense, while the Cowboys rank No. 29.

Guess that hasn't worked out how you thought it would, Jerry.
