A quarterback with stops at two Big 12 schools is making the move to the G5, but staying close to home in the process.

TCU's Chandler Morris is exiting the transfer portal as a graduate student. He announced his commitment to the AAC's North Texas Mean Green via his social media this weekend.

Morris played the 2020 season with Oklahoma, where he appeared in five games and rushed for two touchdowns. He then transferred to TCU, where he spent 2021, 2022, and 2023. Morris appeared in 15 games over the three seasons with the Horned Frogs, nine of which were starts. Morris backed up Max Duggan during TCU's 2022 season, where they made an appearance in the CFP National Championship.

As a Horned Frog, the Highland Park product threw 16 touchdowns with one interception. He completed over 65% of his passes each of the last three seasons.

Morris will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

North Texas played the majority of the 2023 season with Chandler Rogers under center. Rogers has since transferred to Cal. The Mean Green also have Stone Earle in their QB room. Earle played in three games in 2023, completing 22 passes on 40 attempts for 274 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions. Earle also had 16 rushes for 70 yards.

UNT went 5-7 in 2023 in their first season under the direction of head coach Eric Morris. North Texas open the 2024 season on August 31 at South Alabama.
