Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell continues to project as a first round pick for April's upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

The Ringer updated their predictions for the draft's first round on Monday. Mitchell was placed at the #23 overall pick to the AFC South's Houston Texans.

"While he did not face the toughest competition in college, he has the size, speed, and tenacity to succeed in the NFL, and his domination of players from higher-caliber programs while he was in Mobile should alleviate any concerns teams have about whether he could thrive in the NFL," Danny Kelly writes.

Mitchell is the only player from the Group of Five the outlet predicted would be selected in the first round. As Kelly notes, Mitchell would provide some much needed depth at cornerback for Houston, who allowed 230 yards per game through the air in a 10-7 season.

Mitchell forced 17 incompletions last season. He had six interceptions over the last two seasons for the Rockets. The All-American also totaled 40 tackles in 2023.

The 2024 NFL Draft is set for April 25-27 in Detroit, Michigan - just an hour's drive from Toldeo.
