It snowed throughout Halloween night in Toledo, Ohio and Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Despite that, there were some offensive fireworks in both MAC games played on Tuesday night.

The Central Michigan Chippewas hosted the Northern Illinois Huskies with both teams looking for victories to stay in the postseason hunt at 4-4. CMU's home field advantage paid off, as they survived a fourth-quarter surge by NIU to pick up a 37-31 victory.

CMU rushed for 331 yards on the day, their highest total since 2019. Running back Marion Lukes ran for a career-high 202 yards on 21 carries, while Bauer had 106 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Bauer also threw for 116 yards and a touchdown.

CMU will now look for their sixth win of the season against Western Michigan on November 7, which will secure bowl eligibility for the third time in five seasons that Jim McElwain has been the head coach.

Meanwhile in Ohio, the league-leading Toledo Rockets had little trouble dispatching the visiting Buffalo Bulls 31-13.

Running back Jacquez Stewart returned the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown. Stewart also had a rushing touchdown later in the game. The Rockets' other running back, Peny Boone, had a 71-yard rushing touchdown of his own in that game.

With the win, Jason Candle's are now one win away from securing a return trip to the MAC title game.
