Cleveland Browns Assistant to Participate in NFL’s Accelerator Program

In this story:
Cleveland Browns will send assistant wide receivers coach Callie Brownson to Minneapolis next week to participate in the NFL’s Accelerator Program. This year the league will continue to give a chance for assistants to be exposed to NFL owners and decision-makers.
The NFL will continue its Coach Accelerator program at the upcoming owners meetings in Minneapolis next week. The program, started last year, is aimed at exposing NFL owners and decision-makers with diverse talent. Here’s the list of the 40 coaches who will be there pic.twitter.com/71escmb1JK

Brownson has been with the Browns since 2020 when she got her start as the chief of staff. In 2022 she held that role, along with the assistant wideout coaching role. Heading into 2023, Brownson will be just the assistant wide receivers coach.
As a woman in the NFL coaching world, Brownson is a minority with the majority of coaches being males. Brownson has already crossed barriers, in 2018 she was the first woman hired as a full-time Division I football coach, when she was a quality control coach at Dartmouth.
The meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota will give Brownson the chance to meet with other officials around the league, perhaps one day landing her a bigger gig in the NFL.
