Browns Lose CB Greedy Williams to Eagles in Free Agency

As expected, the Cleveland Browns are losing cornerback Greedy Williams in free agency. Williams is signing a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent, per a report. Williams spent four seasons with the Browns after being a second-round draft pick in 2019.

Williams now heads to the Eagles, a team that just made it to the Super Bowl. He will join a cornerback room that includes Darius Slay and James Bradberry, so he won't be relied on to start but could provide solid depth.

A career riddled with injuries, Williams missed all of the 2020 season and only played in 11 games this past season. Over four seasons with the Browns he made 21 starts in 39 games. Williams had two interceptions in 2021, which was his best season as a pro.

With the Browns drafting Greg Newsome II and Martin Emerson Jr. in the last two seasons, cornerback reps were minimal with the emergence of A.J. Green, too. It will be a fresh start for Williams, and he will have a chance to help out a good team if he can stay healthy.
