Editor's Note: This article originally stated that Landry Lyddy would start for UAB. It has been corrected to reflect that Harrison Barker will be starting.

In the latest chapter of the rivalry known as the Battle for the Bones, UAB will be without a key piece of their team. Fifth-year starting quarterback Jacob Zeno was reported to be a late scratch for his team's matchup against Memphis on Saturday night.

Third-year player Harrison Barker will be the Blazers' starting quarterback for tonight's game. Barker has appeared in just three games previously for the Blazers.

In the Blazers' recent loss against UTSA, transfer QB Landry Lyddy completed seven passes on nine attempts for 51 yards and an interception. Zeno was injured in that UTSA game, but the decision was not made to sub out Zeno until shortly before the game. Barker also appeared in that UTSA loss, running three times for 26 yards.

Zeno transferred to UAB from Baylor prior to the 2022 season. In 2023, his first year as the starter, Zeno has thrown for 1905 yards with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions. Zeno has also rushed for four touchdowns so far this season.

Memphis were 7.5-point favorites as of Saturday afternoon.

The game is underway on ESPN2.
