Alabama Football Flips 3-Star Offensive Tackle

Bear Fretwell was originally committed to Georgia Tech, but is now the Crimson Tide's 22nd member of the 2026 class.

Alabama landed a commitment from three-star offensive tackle Bear Fretwell on Friday, per On3's Hayes Fawcett.

Fretwell was originally committed to Georgia Tech just 10 days ago, but he is now the Crimson Tide's 22nd member of the 2026 class.

The 6-foot-7, 315-pounder out of Southeast Bulloch in Brooklet, Ga., is ranked as the No. 690 recruit nationally, the No. 51 offensive tackle and the No. 90 prospect in the state of Georgia, per On3.

He is the Crimson Tide's third offensive lineman in this recruiting class, as he joins four-star prospects Chris Booker and Sam Utu.

Fretwell, who received an offer from the Crimson Tide on July 5, is one of numerous Alabama commits to flip from other schools, including linebacker Xavier Griffin (USC), quarterback Jett Thomalla (Iowa State), running back Javari Barnett (Illinois) and safety Rihyael Kelley (Rutgers).
