Already having a decent reputation for recruiting international prospects, the Eastern Michigan University football program got another international commitment this week.

2025 Canadian offensive lineman Tamarley Smith announced his intention to play for Chris Creighton's program via his social media channels. Smith is listed as a three-star prospect by 247Sports with measurements of 6'6" and 295 pounds.

Smith also had offers from Maine, Boston College, and Buffalo. He is EMU's first commitment of the 2025 class.

A native of Brantford, Ontario, Smith currently plays prep football for Clarkson Football North. EMU has one other former Clarkson Football North offensive lineman on their roster in 2024 freshman Everett Small. The Eagles have two other Canadians on their 2024 roster as well.

Chris Creighton's staff have developed a handful of other Canadian prospects, including 2023 New England Patriots' draft pick Sidy Sow, who also plays on the offensive line. Sow was a two-time All-MAC selection for EMU.

Smith's first chance to sign his letter of intent will be in December of 2024.
