Spring practice has already started for some programs across FBS, including the CUSA champion Liberty Flames. While one piece of last year's Flames offense isn't currently listed on the spring roster, that could change in the near future.

Per Jon Manson of ASeaOfRed.com, receiver Aaron Bedgood could soon be returning to the Flames for an additional season of eligibility.

"We have heard that he is pursuing a waiver to be granted one more year of eligibility, but there has not been a final word on the status of that waiver to this point," Manson stated in a recent report.

Bedgood played four seasons for Liberty head coach Jamey Chadwell at Coastal Carolina University prior to Bedgood transferring. He had been out of football and working at an insurance firm for a few months before he chose to use his remaining eligibility as a graduate student at Liberty.

The Georgia native picked up a medical redshirt in 2020, missing the entire season. The NCAA, technically, restored a season of competition for athletes who participated in the 2020-2021 academic year. Therefore, the expectation that this waiver gets approved should be reasonable, but not set in stone.

Liberty won the Conference USA championship in 2023 and was the G5's representative in the New Year's Six. They lost to #8 Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl. Bedgood had a 33-yard rush in that game that set up the Flames' first and only touchdown.

Bedgood finished the season with 21 catches for 220 yards, while rushing 58 times for 552 yards. He had five total touchdowns on the 2023 season.
