Former Thundering Herd wide receiver Tommy Shuler announced via his Instagram page this week that he will be one of the latest inductees into Marshall's Hall of Fame.

Shuler played four seasons for Marshall from 2011 through 2014. He topped 1,1000 receiving yards in three separate seasons, finishing his career with 322 catches for 3563 yards and 25 touchdowns. His career catch count is currently the sixth-highest in FBS history. Shuler us also one of the less than two dozen players in college football history to catch more than 100 passes in a single season twice.

The Miami native was also the first three-time All-Conference USA first team selection in Marshall history. He was part of three bowl wins for the Doc Holliday-coached Herd and a key figure in Marshall's 2014 Conference USA championship - the football program's most recent conference title.

In high school, Shuler led Miami Central to the program's first state championship. After college, he had brief stints in the Canadian Football League, as well as in Europe before returning to Florida, where he is currently a high school coach.

The full Marshall Hall of Fame Class is usually announced in the summer with the actual induction ceremony in the fall.
