The Sun Belt continued their streak of P5 transfer commitments on Saturday.

Former Missisippi State tight end Jacarius Clayton announced on his social media channels Saturday evening that he intends to sign with Marshall University for the 2024 season. His earliest opportunity to sign his National Letter of Intent will be February 7, 2024.

Clayton is a native of Tupelo, Mississippi, with three years of eligibility remaining. He redshirted the 2022 season in Starkville, making 2023 his redshirt freshman season. He registered no statistics in his first two seasons.

In high school, Clayton was a four-star prospect, per Rivals, and was the #7 player in the state of Mississippi for the class of 2022. He played defensive line in high school, but flipped to tight end in college due, partially, to issues with depth at the position for the Bulldogs.

Clayton joins a Marshall team that picked up another transfer tight end in Cade Conley since the end of the season.

The Thundering Herd finished the 2023 season 6-7 with a loss to UTSA in the Frisco Bowl.
