Report: New York Mets Trading For Former Cincinnati Reds' All-Star Jesse Winker in Deal With Washington Nationals
CINCINNATI — The Washington Nationals are trading Jesse Winker to the New York Mets according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.
The former Reds All-Star signed a $2 million contract with Washington this offseason. Not only did he make the team, he re-established his big league value.
Winker is slashing .253/.372/.417 this season for the Nationals.
The 30-year-old spent the first five years of his career with the Reds. He was an All-Star in 2021, posting a .305/.394/.556 slash line.
That was Winker's best season and he's struggled over the past few years in Seattle and Milwaukee, respectively.
The lefty has bounced back in a big way. The trade is still in process and pending medicals.
