National Analyst Craig Carton: ‘Bengals Are Flawed Team, AFC Is A Two Dog Race’

CINCINNATI — The Bengals are one of the NFL's hottest teams having won five games in a row, but Fox Sports analyst Craig Carton isn't buying them as contenders.

Carton said the AFC is a two-team conference right now between the Chiefs and the Bills.

"I think to be fair right now, there are two maybe three teams in the AFC that can literally lay claim to having a chance to win the Super Bowl," Carton stated. "And it's the Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs. If you want me to lean a little bit, lean a little bit to the Bengals. Yeah, I mean, it's a two-team race. Let's be honest."

The odds would beg to differ as Cincinnati (+1000) is one of three AFC teams with 10-1 or better odds to win the Super Bowl (KC: +450, BUF: +350).

The Ravens (+2000) are the next closest AFC team in Super Bowl odds.

"They're a flawed team," Carton said with no context. "They're a flawed team. I'm sorry. They may not even win their own division. They're a flawed team right now. They're, they're in their playoff experience. They won every game on the last possession. Last play the game with a few field goals, as much as I want my Jets to get in, I think the Jets have a Super Bowl-caliber defense. The AFC is a two-dog race."
