Trey Hendrickson on Bengals Future: 'I Want to Help Win a Super Bowl for Cincinnati If I'm There or Not'

In this story:
CINCINNATI — Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson addressed his future for the first time this offseason during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday.
The All-Pro defensive end led the NFL with 17.5 sacks in 2024. He's entering the final year of his contract and would like a long-term extension.
"If it's something we can agree on in terms, that would be great," Hendrickson said. "Ideally, my wife and I would love to stay in Cincinnati."
The 30-year-old made it clear that he wants to help the Bengals win a Super Bowl—whether it's playing for them or in a trade that gives them picks to use on other players.
“The goal is to win a Super Bowl for Cincinnati. What that looks like this season—if it’s something we can agree on in terms, that would be great," Hendrickson said. "If it’s something that helps the Bengals win a Super Bowl by getting picks or anything like that. I want to help Cincinnati win a Super Bowl, whether I’m there or not.”
He was also asked about Duke Tobin's comments last month at the Senior Bowl.
“Has he earned a pay raise and a bump in an extension … he has. We’re cognizant of that, and we will give that to him. But whether we agree on what that looks like is, is what is to be determined," Tobin said. "We can't have guys at the top of the payroll in every position, right? We'll do what we can. We'll do what we feel is right, and we will try to get Trey re-signed. It's not giving anybody an extension. It's agreeing with somebody on an extension."
Hendrickson didn't love reading that quote in a text message from his father, but he doubled down on his goal of bringing a championship to Cincinnati.
"I love for my play to do the talking," Hendrickson said. "Whatever happens, I want to win a Super Bowl for Cincinnati."
