The UTEP Miners did not have to wait long to find a new co-offensive coordinator.

This past Friday, news broke that UTEP co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Jared Kaster would be hired at Washington State after about two months in El Paso. On Monday, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that the Miners had already found a replacement for Kaster.

Per Thamel, Scotty Walden's staff will add Tulsa assistant Ryan Stancheck in the same Co-OC/O-Line role that Kaster had.

Stanchek spent 2023 at Tulsa, his first and only season with Kevin Wilson's Golden Hurricane.

There may be a reason the search was so quick: Stanchek was Walden's Co-OC and offensive line coach at Austin Peay in 2022. The Governors went 7-4 that season, finishing second in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Stanchek also has stops at Southern Miss, Florida A&M, and five seasons at Alcorn State on his resume.

As a player, Stanchek was a two-time All-American at West Virginia, where he played from 2005 to 2008.
