Rhett Lowder Strikes Out Seven Over Four Innings in Double-A Chattanooga

Rhett Lowder had his best start since being promoted to Double-A Chattanooga on Wednesday night.

The young right-hander threw allowed one run and five hits in four innings, while striking out seven.

Lowder dominated High-A with a 2.49 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP over five starts with the Dayton Dragons. He's the No. 1 prospect in the Reds' minor league system according to MLB Pipeline.

He has struggled since being called up to Double-A, but this was a step in the right direction. He has a 9.39 ERA over four starts in Double-A.

Lowder was the seventh overall selection in the 2023 MLB Draft out of Wake Forest. He had one of the best seasons as a starting pitcher in college baseball history last season. Check out footage from Wednesday night below:
