Mike Zimmer Offers Up Big Time Praise for Joe Burrow

"I think y'all hit big on that one."

CINCINNATI — Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has received plenty of praise over the past few years.

Most Cincinnati fans believe he's going to rejuvenate a franchise that hasn't won a playoff game since Jan. 6, 1991.

That praise continued on Thursday afternoon when former Bengals defensive coordinator and current Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer had nothing but great things to say about the face of the franchise.

"I have been extremely impressed with watching Burrow," Zimmer said when asked about the Bengals' offense. "This kid is competitive. He’s a heck of a scrambler. He’s got a big-time arm, he’s not afraid to throw the ball into tight windows. He seems to see things and get the ball off really quick. It looks like, I remember, Carson (Palmer) the way he could spin the ball. This guy probably will be better than him. He’s a better scrambler, but I’ve been so impressed with the toughness. He will take a shot, scramble and dive or the first down. Run a quarterback draw. All the things he does. I think y’all hit big on that one."

Zimmer is a no-nonsense, straight to the point type coach. It's easy to praise your opponent ahead of a head-to-head matchup, but he didn't have to go out of his way to praise Burrow like he did. Zimmer is a defensive coach, as most know, which means his unit could have its' hands full in Burrow's first game since November.
