Buccaneers Defense Dealing With Multiple Injuries As Bengals Game Looms
CINCINNATI — The Bengals and Buccaneers are dealing with lengthy injury reports after their latest practices. Tampa's defense has some big names tracking toward a missed game on Sunday.
On Thursday for the Buccaneers, DL Vita Vea (calf), DE Carl Nassib (pectoral), WR Julio Jones (knee), CB Jamel Dean (toe), and OLB Genard Avery (abdomen/oblique) did not participate in practice.
Jones, Dean, Nassib, and Vea didn't practice on Wednesday either.
On the limited front, starting left tackle Tristan Wirfs practiced for the first time in a couple of weeks.
He has not played since the Bucs' 23-17 loss to Cleveland on Nov. 27. Defensive pieces in edge rusher Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (hip), and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (ankle) were also limited.
Injured Tampa players that practiced in full: S Mike Edwards (hamstring), and CB Sean Murphy-Bunting (quadriceps)
