Possible Bengals Draft Target Notre Dame Star Safety Xavier Watts Signs With Athletes First

In this story:
CINCINNATI — Notre Dame safety Xavier Watts has officially signed with Athletes First.
That's the same agency that represents multiple top NFL safeties in the league, including Jessie Bates and Budda Baker.
Watts will be mentioned as a possible Bengals draft target over the next few months. Not only did he finish with 13 interceptions over the past two seasons, but he played for current Bengals defensive coordinator Al Golden.
Adding a player like Watts would make a ton of sense for the Bengals. He has experience with Golden, should be a quality NFL player right away and the Bengals have had issues on the back end of their defense over the past few seasons.
A big reason why the Bengals didn't retain Bates is because they were unable to get a deal done with his agent David Mulugheta.
Mulugheta represents a lot of top players and the Bengals haven't signed one of his clients to a long-term contract. It's why Tee Higgins switching from Mulugheta to Rocky Arceneaux was such big news.
Of course, this doesn't mean the Bengals will pass on Watts in the draft. They're going to take the best player that fits their roster, but this does add another wrinkle to "Watts to the Bengals" narrative that has gained momentum over the past few weeks.
