NFL Insider Notes Fresh Development in Trey Hendrickson Negotiations

In this story:
CINCINNATI — A fresh update surfaced on Monday regarding the Bengals' negotiations with star defender Trey Hendrickson. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the Bengals made a new contract offer in the past week.
It has not been enough to get Hendrickson signed to a new deal just yet.
"Trey Hendrickson, they're excellent edge rusher, sack leader in the NFL last year, still wants a new contract, still wants to get paid, set to make $16 million this year, not expected to play for that," Rapoport said on NFL Network. "At least a raise likely is coming. The Bengals have made several offers, including a recent one, over the course of the last couple of days. Today is a huge day for Trey Hendrickson and the Cincinnati Bengals."
Hendrickson is wildly underpaid compared to the rest of the edge rusher market, which just got reset again by T.J. Watt as the new highest-paid-non-quarterback in the NFL ($41 million per year).
Cincinnati has until Wednesday morning to strike a deal, or Hendrickson could hold in to start camp.
