Cincinnati Reds Expected to Lose Pitcher for Season Due to Surgery

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Ian Gibaut is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery.
Gibaut had his rehab assignment paused in August and recently underwent surgery to repair his labrum and reattach his biceps tendon to his upper arm, according to MLB.com's Mark Sheldon.
Gibaut had 4.62 ERA across 25 games for Cincinnati this season.
The 31-year-old has pitched in 134 games for the Reds across four seasons.

The Reds are 67-61 this season and currently one game back of the New York Mets for the third and final National League Wild Card spot. They have an off day on Thursday before starting a three-game series in Arizona on Friday night.
