Cincinnati Reds Starting Pitcher Nick Lodolo Exits Game With Apprent Injury

Lodolo was dealing before he left the game.

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Nick Lodolo was having one of the best performances of his career before leaving the game in the seventh inning due to an apparent injury.

Jim Day reported that it appeared to be a groin issue.

Lodolo missed time earlier this season due to a blister issue, but this appears to have no relation to that issue.

The left-hander did not give up a run over 6 1/3 innings on Thursday. He gave up just two hits, walked a batter, and tied his career high with 12 strikeouts.

The Reds were leading 2-0 at the time Lodolo left the game and Graham Ashcraft came on to relieve Lodolo.

The Reds are trying to avoid being swept in the series finale.
