Cincinnati Reds Make Key Roster Move Ahead of Series Finale vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Reds will look to avoid the sweep on Wednesday night.

The Cincinnati Reds activated starting pitcher Nick Lodolo from the injured list on Wednesday and placed relief pitcher Graham Ashcraft on the injured list with a right forearm strain.

Lodolo, who has been on the injured list since the beginning of August with a blister issue, is scheduled to start on Wednesday night.

The left-hander is 8-5 with a 3.05 ERA and 124 strikeouts.

Ashcraft has been the main seventh-inning guy when the Reds have the lead. Earlier in the week, he felt some forearm soreness and the Reds got an MRI done. With Ashcraft out, Scott Barlow could be someone who could step into that role. Connor Phillips and Zach Maxwell were both recently called up, and they've looked promising so far.

Ashcraft has a 3.72 ERA in 53 games for Cincinnati this season.
