'It Was About The Respect' - NFL Insider Describes Night Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins Struck Bengals Deals

In this story:
CINCINNATI — Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins have a strong desire to bring a Super Bowl back to Cincinnati this decade, echoed in their dinner the night they agreed to new Bengals deals. FOX Sports insider Jordan Schultz broke down his Miami, Florida dinner with the duo that preceded him breaking the news about their deals.
He noted how badly the two wanted to stay together to bring a Super Bowl to a place that's never won one.
"They told me repeatedly at that dinner, we were at Prime 112 in Miami. During the dinner, there were a couple of points where I wanted to know why now, why together?" Schultz noted on X. "And it was made so clear to me, this was not only about money, but way more important than money. It was about the respect and the ability to bring a Super Bowl back to Cincinnati, which has never happened. I saw it firsthand, right? I saw it, how tight they were, and the trust they had in one another."
Chase and Higgins are locked in with Joe Burrow through at least 2028 (2029 for Chase), giving Cincinnati the continuity to build a winner around them and Burrow.
That work continues this offseason with the rest of free agency and the NFL Draft. Meanwhile, Cincinnati's best playmakers can sharpen their skills over the next few months with no worries about the future entering a contract-stressless 2025 season.
Here’s the full story of the night Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins agreed to their extensions — and what went down over dinner at “Prime 112” in Miami before we dropped the bombshell news to the world.
