'Feeling Great' - Ted Karras Tweaking Offseason Training Surrounding Flying Pig Marathon

In this story:
CINCINNATI — The Flying Pig 5K has a star participant this Saturday. Bengals center Ted Karras is running the race for the first time as his Cincy Hat charitable operation partners with the event for a special edition of the hat.
Karras noted to The Enquirer's David Wysong that he wants to complete the 5K in 25 minutes or less and that it's helping get him in shape for the 2025 NFL Season.
"I'm feeling really good going into year 10 − feeling great, actually," he said to Wysong before noting he'll stop the heavier cardio after the race. "Probably not the greatest programming for a lineman in the NFL."
He's ready to see how hard he can push his cardio with months to go before the 2025 campaign.
"A 5K overall is an inexpensive physical exertion," Karras told Wysong. "I was thinking maybe I could just pull three miles out of my hat, but I wanted to run it really strong."
It's just another example of how well the veteran has integrated himself into the city's culture entering his 10th NFL season.
"It's been so fun to learn the city through this way, and the city's been so generous," Karras told Wysong. "That's really why I wanted to run. The Flying Pig made a big order, and that directly goes into the housing fund for our foundation."
All of this momentum rows towards help for the Village of Merici, for which Cincy Hat directly raises money. The Indianapolis-based village provides residential apartments and services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
