It's Official: Cincinnati Bengals Placing Franchise Tag on Tee Higgins for Second Time

In this story:
CINCINNATI — The Bengals are using the franchise tag on Tee Higgins. The star receiver will make $26.16 million this season if the two sides can't agree to a long-term deal.
Cincinnati Bengals On SI was the first to report that the team planned on using the tag on Higgins.
This gives both the Bengals and Higgins' representation more time to work out a long-term deal.
Last year the Bengals tagged Higgins and there wasn't much dialogue about a long-term contract. He was the only player that was tagged by his team last year that didn't sign a multi-year extension.
This year feels different. The Bengals plan to sign the star receiver to a long-term deal, sources say.
Higgins changed agents in December, moving on from David Mulugheta. He signed with Rocky Arceneaux and Caitlin Aoki of Alliance Sports.
When will a long-term deal get done? Only time will tell, but it is certainly a priority for the Bengals and for Higgins.
