Report: 'Good Vibes' Surrounding Bengals, Trey Hendrickson Contract Extension Chances

In this story:
CINCINNATI — Talk has been quiet over the past month from Trey Hendrickson and the Bengals regarding their negotiations towards a contract extension for the edge rusher.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini posted on X Friday that she is still "getting good vibes" that they will try to come to a contract agreement entering the final year of his Bengals contract.
Cincinnati selected edge rusher Shemar Stewart with the 17th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft last week but didn't have any reported trade talks during the draft to move Hendrickson.
At this point, there isn't a plausible trade that makes Hendrickson and the Bengals happy. The team would be getting worse in 2025 with any draft picks deal they make and it's very rare to trade a player like Hendrickson for a similar active talent in return.
The waiting game continues as Cincinnati turns the page to rookie mini-camp next week. It would be ideal to have Hendrickson in the fold for the start of OTAs on May 27.
Some people saw the Bengals' drafting of Shemar Stewart as signaling the end of the Trey Hendrickson era in Cincinnati.

But sources I talk to around the NFL paint a much different picture.
