CINCINNATI — Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson's agent Harold Lewis expects to meet with the front office as soon as next week according to WLWT's Charlie Clifford.

Hendrickson led the NFL with 17.5 sacks in 2024. He's entering the final year of his contract and would like a long-term extension.

"The ultimate goal is to make him a Bengal for the long-term," Lewis told Clifford.

Hendrickson shared the same sentiment on Wednesday during his interview on the Pat McAfree Show.

“The goal is to win a Super Bowl for Cincinnati. What that looks like this season—if it’s something we can agree on in terms, that would be great," Hendrickson said. "If it’s something that helps the Bengals win a Super Bowl by getting picks or anything like that. I want to help Cincinnati win a Super Bowl, whether I’m there or not.”

Translation: "Pay me or trade me."

Hendrickson has been with the Bengals since 2021 when he signed a four-year, $60 million contract in free agency. He signed a one-year extension prior to the 2025 campaign.

The Bengals know that Hendrickson wants a new deal.

“Has he earned a pay raise and a bump in an extension … he has. We’re cognizant of that, and we will give that to him. But whether we agree on what that looks like is, is what is to be determined," Bengals Director of Player Personnel Duke Tobin said last month. "We can't have guys at the top of the payroll in every position, right? We'll do what we can. We'll do what we feel is right, and we will try to get Trey re-signed. It's not giving anybody an extension. It's agreeing with somebody on an extension."

Hendrickson hasn't been pleased with the communication from the front office so far this offseason, but next week's meeting could bring more clarity to the situation and his future in Cincinnati.
