Cincinnati Bengals Should Consider Trading for Former Pro Bowl Defensive Tackle Jonathan Allen

In this story:
CINCINNATI — It's no secret that the Bengals need defensive tackle help. Could Jonathan Allen be the answer?
The two-time Pro Bowler is on the trade block in Washington and the Commanders have given him permission to seek a trade according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
"The Commanders have had trade conversations centered around Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jonathan Allen," Rapoport tweeted. "Washington plans to do right by the player & Allen’s camp is involved in helping him land at the right spot—either via trade or free agency. He has one year left at $15M."
None of the $15 million Allen is owed is guaranteed, which means a trade would likely come with a re-worked contract.
Allen's play has dropped off over the past two seasons according to Pro Football Focus. The Bengals may be leery of giving up anything of value for the veteran, but it's something that they'll have a discussion about.
They need to be better in the trenches and Allen may be part of the solution to their issues. Check out Allen's PFF grades below:
