Washington Commanders May Be OUT of Trey Hendrickson Trade Discussion Following Laremy Tunsil Trade

CINCINNATI — The Washington Commanders were considered one of the favorites to trade for Bengals star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson.

It doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Washington is finalizing a blockbuster trade with Houston that will send star left tackle Laremy Tunsil to the Commanders according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Commanders will still keep their first and second round picks in this year's draft, which means they could theoretically still pull off a trade for Hendrickson, but adding two highly paid trench players that are both in their 30's seems unrealistic.

The Commanders are sending a second and a fourth rounder to the Texans in 2026 and a third rounder to Houston this year in exchange for Tunsil and a fourth round pick.
