Arizona Cardinals Land new Offensive Coordinator From Browns Staff

Drew Petzing is heading to the Arizona Cardinals to be the offensive coordinator. The Cleveland Browns will now be in search of a new quarterbacks coach.

Cleveland Browns will have to replace their quarterback's coach as Drew Petzing has accepted an offensive coordinator position with the Arizona Cardinals. First reported by NFL Network, Petzing is joining new Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon's staff.

The two previously worked together with the Minnesota Vikings from 2014-19. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski comes from the Vikings organization, so he's familiar with both coaches. Petzing was brought over by Stefanski because of the familiarity.

Interestingly enough, this could help the Browns out. There is now an open spot on the staff to bring in someone who has worked with Deshaun Watson in the past perhaps. It makes a ton of sense to let Watson weigh in on the next quarterback's coach.

Petzing worked his way up with the Browns from tight ends coach to quarterbacks coach in his three seasons with the team. A well-deserved promotion as he will now run his own offense with the Cardinals.
