Watch Donny Van De Beek Score First Man United Goal Since 2021 With Fine Volley In Friendly Win Over Lyon

Donny van de Beek scored his first Manchester United goal in 20 months on Wednesday when he found the net with a fine volley during a friendly game against Lyon in Edinburgh.

The 26-year-old Dutch midfielder fired United 1-0 up four minutes into the second half at Murrayfield following an excellent cross from Daniel Gore.

That proved to be the only goal of the game as United made it two wins from two matches, having beaten Leeds 2-0 in Oslo in their first friendly of the summer.

Van de Beek started just two Premier League games last season but he is hoping to play his way into Erik ten Hag's plans by impressing during United's pre-season schedule.

The former Ajax star scored on his United debut back in September 2020 in a 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace.

But his only other goal for the club came in November 2021 during a 4-1 defeat at Watford.
