Reds Star Elly De La Cruz Set to Leave Team After Sister's Death

De La Cruz's sister passed away on Saturday.

Elly De La Cruz's sister Genelis De La Cruz passed away on Saturday.

De La Cruz is scheduled to leave on Wednesday and go on the bereavement list, according to Charlie Goldsmith.

The 23-year-old is very close to his family and keeps his private life very private.

Reds manager Terry Francona spoke to reporters ahead of Monday's game vs the Brewers and said De La Cruz plans to join his family in the Dominican Republic after the game on Wednesday.

Elly De La Cruz is scheduled to leave on Wednesday and go on the bereavement list.
