CINCINNATI — The Reds activated outfielder Stuart Fairchild from the 10-day injured list. The 28-year-old was dealing with a spine injury.

Fairchild is slashing .224/.298/.347 this season with five home runs and 23 RBI. Cincinnati designated Edwin Rios for assignment to make room on the roster.

The move gives David Bell another outfielder ahead of Friday night's matchup with the Nationals. Check out our preview of the game here.
