CINCINNATI — The Bengals got good news on Friday. Rookie guard Jackson Carman has been activated from the NFL's COVID-19/Reserve List.

That means he'll likely make his fourth consecutive start at right guard on Sunday against the Lions.

The news couldn't come at a better time. With D'Ante Smith battling a knee injury and Xavier Su'a-Filo on injured reserve, the Bengals would've been forced to play Fred Johnson or Trey Hill out of position on Sunday.

Instead, Carman will be active and should continue his development at right guard.

The rookie needed two negative COVID-19 tests to be removed from the list.

Running back Samaje Perine is still on the COVID-19/Reserve list after testing positive earlier this week.
