CINCINNATI — Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to be under center when the first-team offense takes the field on Wednesday for their first training camp practice.
The 24-year-old has worked his way back from a devastating knee injury he suffered against Washington in November.
It wasn't easy, but he embraced the challenge. Burrow's hard work caught the attention of his teammates, including good friend Sam Hubbard.
"I've seen him in the gym every day this offseason. Nobody is working harder," Hubbard told Bengals.com. "It doesn't surprise me that he's ready to go. He's been amazing and it's been because of how much discipline he has and how much work he puts in."
Hubbard agreed to a four-year, $40 million contract extension on Sunday which keeps him in Cincinnati through the 2025 season.
It'll be up to Hubbard, Burrow and the rest of the Bengals' youngsters to get this team back on track after five-straight losing seasons.
