Report: Ja'Marr Chase and Bengals 'Far Apart' in Talks After Cincinnati's Latest Offer

In this story:
CINCINNATI — The Bengals have made a contract offer to wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, but nothing is imminent according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
"Chase is expected to reset the non-QB market," Russini wrote on Saturday. "An offer has been made by Cincinnati, but the two sides remain far apart in talks for now."
The Bengals got close to an extension with Chase last year, but the guaranteed money early in the contract fell short of what the star was looking for.
Chase went on to become the fifth wide receiver since the merger to win the Triple Crown. He led the NFL in receptions (127), yards (1,708) and receiving touchdowns (17).
"Ja'Marr is always going to be our priority," Bengals Director of Player Personnel Duke Tobin said this week. "He's a fantastic football player. He's gonna ended up being the No.1-paid non-quarterback in the league. We're there. Let's get it done."
Chase is expected to make anywhere between $38-40 million per season. He'll likely sign a four-year extension. He is under contract for the 2025 season.
