Cincinnati Bengals Probably Won't Pursue Trade for Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro Lineman Joe Thuney

In this story:
CINCINNATI — The Kansas City Chiefs are having trade talks involving All-Pro offensive lineman Joe Thuney according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
The three-time Pro Bowler is a Kettering, Ohio native. Once upon a time, the Bengals were considered a suitor for Thuney's services in free agency. Ultimately, he signed with the Chiefs, spending the past four seasons in Kansas City.
The Bengals trading for Thuney is highly unlikely for a bunch of reasons. He's entering the final year of his contract and has a $26 million cap hit in 2025. He'll be 33-years-old in November.
Oh, and the fact that the Bengals probably don't want to help the Chiefs and vice versa.
Russini did mention the Chicago Bears as a potential suitor for Thuney. The veteran is still playing at a high level, but it would be surprising to see the Bengals dip their toes in the Thuney sweepstakes.
UPDATE: The Chiefs are trading Thuney to the Bears for a 2026 fourth round pick according to Russini.
Trade is official!
