Cincinnati Bengals Should Pursue Former Jacksonville Jaguars Tight End Evan Engram in Free Agency

This could be an ideal fit in free agency.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals want to re-sign tight end Mike Gesicki. There aren't many proven tight ends available on the free agent market.

While Gesicki is likely their first option, former Pro Bowl tight end Evan Engram givens them another proven veteran that they could add to the roster.

Engram was released by the Jaguars on Thursday. He had 47 catches for 365 yards and one touchdown in nine games for Jacksonville last season.

He spent the past three seasons in Jacksonville. Engram had a career-high 114 catches for 963 yards and four touchdowns in 2023.

Engram turns 31 in September, but he's still a quality pass catcher and would give the Bengals a backup plan—especially if they aren't close to re-signing Gesicki.
