UTSA have added a notable piece to bolster their offensive line in 2024. Former University of Houston and University of Texas offensive lineman Jaylen Garth committed to the Roadrunners this week.

Garth spent 2020 and 2021 at Texas, where he played in two games during the 2021 season. He then transferred to Houston for the 2022 season, where he did not play. In 2023, Garth played in seven games for the Cougars.

In 2023, Houston rushed for 118.7 yards per game, which was 12th out of 14 teams in the Big 12 Conference. The Cougars offensive line also allowed 27 sacks, which was the third-most in the conference. The Cougars recently completed their first season as a member of the Big 12.

Garth is the third offensive line commit from the transfer portal this cycle for UTSA.

Houston had Garth listed at 6'5" and 305 pounds. He will enter UTSA as a redshirt junior. The Port Neches, Texas native was a four-star prospect coming out of high school.
