Manchester City marched confidently into the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals by beating FC Copenhagen 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.

Former Southampton and Celtic star Mohamed Elyounoussi scored a consolation goal for the Danish side.

Highlights: Manchester City 3-1 FC Copenhagen

Haaland's goal arrived just before half-time when he collected a 40-yard pass from Rodri on the edge of the penalty area before evading two defenders and smashing home with his left foot.

This was Haaland's sixth Champions League goal of the season and it saw him move level with Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane in the race for the Golden Boot.

It also took Haaland up to joint-19th on the list of the Champions League's all-time leading scorers.

Haaland is now level with Man City legend Sergio Aguero on 41 goals.

Aguero's 41 Champions League goals came in 79 appearances for City and Atletico Madrid, while Wednesday's appearance was only the 37th of Haaland's UCL career.

Haaland has scored 18 goals in 18 UCL games for City, having netted 15 in 13 matches for Borussia Dortmund and eight in six for Red Bull Salzburg.
